From Mild to Wild February Newsletter
Greetings everyone!
I hope that things are going well for everyone. We’ve had a rough month here with a big computer crash, so it’s slowed us down a bit but we’re working through it to keep the sauce coming. Lots of you have been taking advantage of our “Get Sauced for Free” promotion where we have been giving away a free bottle of our great From Mild to Wild Hot Sauce with any order over $30. This promotion is over at the end of February, so get it while it’s hot! We’re working on something new and interesting for next month. Keep an eye on the blog at the beginning of March to get a head start on that one.
I was experimenting in the kitchen just prior to a Superbowl party here and I modified a recipe that I had with great results – these turned out just superb. Original they were called Nacho Pinwheels, now they are Blair’s Nacho Pinwheels of Death! Check out the recipe and give it a shot if you dare:
Blair’s Nacho Pinwheels of Death
3 cups Original Bisquick mix
3/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
2/3 cup water
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
Blair’s Fiery Cheese Queso (to taste)
 Salsa, if desired
 Sour cream, if desired
1. Heat oven to 425°F. Grease cookie sheet with shortening or cooking spray. In large bowl, stir Bisquick mix, chili powder, oregano and water until soft dough forms. Place dough on surface sprinkled with Bisquick mix; gently roll in Bisquick mix to coat. Shape into a ball; knead 10 times.
2. Roll dough into 18×10-inch rectangle. Spread an even layer of Blair’s Fiery Cheese Queso over the rectangle (more = hotter). Roll up rectangle tightly, beginning at 18-inch side. Pinch edge into roll to seal. Cut into 18 slices. Place on cookie sheet.
3. Bake 11 to 13 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with salsa and sour cream.
We’ve recently gotten a new supply of products in from Blair’s that’s headlined by the Naga Jolokia Peppers that I mentioned last month. If you’re a serious heat freak, you’re going to want to check these out. They are a great quality sample of the hottest peppers now available on the planet. We’ve also recently added some unique products from the Marie Sharp’s line including products featuring Orange and Grapefruit mixed with Habanero. For the fans of Marie Sharp’s Fiery Hot, we’ve got that back in stock now as well.
For those of you looking around our area for product, be sure to check out the following locations that are carrying some of our products:
Digby Convenience (formerly Oliver’s) has a cross section of products
Annapolis Natural Foods is carrying the Bone Suckin’ line of products
Jody’s Gourmet Pizza and Convenience has a private labelled sauce from us that’s fantastic, and
The End of the Line Pub in Bridgetown is using a sauce from us on their tables. Check it out – it’s great on everything!
If you’re looking for a private label for a business or special event, drop us a line and we’ll see what we can do for you. Until next month, make sure that you keep warm through the end of winter – we’re always here to help!
Cheers,
Brian
